Gratitude + Traditions

We asked our bande employee’s to share some of their favorite Thanksgiving traditions they partake in annually.

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays here at bande. It’s an opportunity for us to look back over the past year and revel in the platform’s evolution and the amazing community we have built so far.

Besides gratitude, annual traditions are one of the best parts of the holidays. Whether you’re running in your local turkey trot or playing games with family, we find joy in people coming together to celebrate their own unique way.

We asked bande employee’s to give us an inside look into their favorite activities that take place on Thanksgiving day and we’d love to hear all about yours, too!

Rebecca & kids at the beach

Rebecca Balyasny, CEO + Founder, escapes the winter weather every year by traveling to sunny weather and ocean air. While the kids play in the sand, she and her husband do their own biathlon with a run on the beach and an open water swim.

Mindy Lai, Founding Instructor, and Eric Solomon, Senior Manager of Customer Support, celebrate thanksgiving with untraditional traditions! Mindy indulges on her mom’s amazing peking duck while Eric slices up a honey baked ham. Delicious!

Chrissy Anderson, Chief Operations Officer, hosts a blind wine tasting with her friends. It even gets competitive with winning points based on year, region and varietal.

Amaya Weddle, Chief Product Officer, has been taking a Jazzercise class with her ‘aunties’ since 1997!

Ariel Mann, Founding Instructor, is the hostess with the mostest – hosting over 20-40 guests each year with a giant feast and an even bigger party!

hallmark moviesAmanda Jenny, Founding Instructor, kicks off her holiday joy by binge-watching Hallmark Christmas Movies – the more terrible the better.
Chris McDaniels, Senior Customer Service Representative,
Macy's Day Parade
and his family go around the table sharing what they are thankful for. This year, Chris says "I am thankful that I was welcomed full-time to the bande family!" So are we, Chris!

Julia Eisenstein, Director of Partnerships, loves watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade with her littles, the same way she did with her dad when she was a kid. Plus, as a New York City resident, Julia has a front-row seat!
